Basic Information
Our litters vary in price depending on the sire and dam being bred. A 500.00 non-refundable deposit needs to be paid in order to hold a puppy after an application has been approved. The deposit is non-refundable but can be moved to a future litter one time only. We understand that situations arise that may complicate bringing in a puppy and you may decide to move your deposit to a future litter. However it is the buyer’s job to contact us when they are ready to reserve another puppy. If the puppies in that litter are already spoken for they will have to wait until another puppy becomes available. There are no timelines on reserving a puppy. The last half of payment is due when the puppies go home or one week prior to shipping on a plane or with a third party. There is also a 6% sales tax added onto the price which the state of Kentucky requires which will also be due with the last payment. We hold puppies in the order they are paid for. We will only take a select number of deposits and then we will form a waiting list. We start evaluations and choosing puppies around the the 4th week of age. We do not hold numerous puppies in one persons name until they decide. Decisions are made between weeks 5 and 6 weeks permanently or the buyer can move their deposit to the next available litter. As the breeder we reserve the right to keep any puppy out of any litter and in that case your deposit will be moved to another litter or you may choose another puppy from the same litter.
We do not send AKC papers home with limited AKC registration contracts. We can send the papers to you once we have received veterinary confirmation, in writing from your veterinary office, or a bill, that your puppy has been spayed or neutered. The second option is to have us on the puppy as a co-owner until the puppy has been spayed or neutered.
Health Guarantee
Our puppies come with a one year health guarantee. Health evaluations need to be completed by this 12 month period in order to be covered under contract. We do not cover cherry eye, ectropian, patella issues, entropian, seizures, demodectic mange, elongated soft palates, IVDD, allergies, digestive issues, skin issues, heat exhaustion, urinary tract infections or stenotic nares. We do cover reproductive issues that could be genetic if you are on a full registration contract. If a problem should arise, we will need documentation from your vet and our vet for the puppy to be covered. We strive to select healthy dogs for our breeding program with health at the top of our list. If you bring your puppy home and are not satisfied, arrangements will be made to have the puppy sent back to us, and you will have the option of replacing your puppy one time depending on the circumstances. The puppy being replaced will need to be of the same color and or value as the original puppy purchased. Shipment of the puppy will be paid for by the buyer. Busy Bee puppies are not to be sold, given away or used for illegal purposes. Should an owner come across a problem and can no longer keep or provide for their puppy, the puppy will be returned to Katherine Tantillo at the buyer’s expense. Unless another resolution is reached where both parties agree on the placement. No money will be returned to the buyer.
Co-Ownerships
Co-ownerships must be approved through Katherine Tantillo. The contract is not transferrable and can not be with another party without our written permission. Should you want to add a co-owner then you must write us a formal letter asking us permission. Should there be a Co-owner on your paperwork that was not approved the health guarantee of your contract is void. The reason we do this is because we agreed to sell a puppy to you, and not another person.
Full AKC Contracts (Breeding Rights)
Puppies sold on an unlimited contract must a have a DNA Analysis done and health checked by twelve months in order to be covered by our contract. We must approve all breed quality homes. We choose not to sell breed quality puppies out of every litter. As responsible breeders we feel it is important to make sure our breed quality buyers have the best interest of the breed at heart. There is nothing wrong in our opinion in selling a breed quality dog on a limited contract. We do offer the limited contract to be changed to a breed quality contract at eight months with the difference of price being paid. The reason we settled on eight months is because the puppy may want to enter the show ring and it gives time for health evaluations to be performed prior to breeding. Papers will be sent after the additional money has been paid.
Breed/Show puppies will carry Busy Bee’s name on all documentation, Titles and Social Media Platforms. (ex; Busy Bee’s ______ ).
Accidents happen, but the price still has to be paid. Even on limited registration if you have an accidental litter you will be required to pay us up to breed price for the puppy you selected. This is for any litter produced even if the mate is not a French Bulldog. We have unfortunately had to sue clients for this payment and we will do it again. Should a genetic health issue cause the puppy not to be able to breed, and we agree, we will replace your puppy one time . In this case the breeder will choose the replacement puppy. The buyer will pay to have the puppy they already own spayed or neutered in order for the second puppy to join the family. We absolutely do not approve our dogs to be bred to a dog of another breed. Mixed breed, or “designer” litters are not supported by us at all. If you are looking to purchase one of our puppies to eventually create a non-standard mixed breed please look elsewhere. We have spent vast amounts of time, energy, sweat and tears to produce quality French Bulldogs. Our lines will not be used to create a fake dog breed that is not supported by a written standard produced by a Nationally accredited and recognized registry.
Puppy Pick-Up
Puppies need to be picked up the weekend they are ready to go home. We no longer accept excuses on picking up your puppy on time. By placing a working fee on a puppy you are accepting the commitment of picking up your puppy on time. Should you fail to show up the weekend of pick up a 20.00 a day fee will be charged to your balance. After seven days we will put your puppy up for sale. You may move your working fee to a future litter one time. Please note that the accrued fees from the failed puppy pick up will be added to the balance on the new puppy.
We offer shipping in the United States at buyer’s expense. Flights normally cost around 700.00 with the handling company we use. The buyer will also be responsible for the Health Certificate (50.00), 9 week shots (120.00) extra boarding (100.00) Puppies will not be shipped by plane until they are at least nine weeks of age. We do not cover any complications associated with air or ground travel. Puppies will be shipped or picked up on Friday through Sunday only. Puppies need to be paid for in full prior to shipping on a plane or with a third party. We reserve the right to place your puppy into another home if the puppy is not paid for in full before the shipping occurs. In that case your working fee will be moved to a future litter and any costs associated with travel or extra boarding will be added to the balance on your next puppy.
We can occasionally drive up to two hours towards you for a 50.00 fee. We choose the location where we meet.
Right of Refusal
Our puppies will be placed in homes based on the buyer’s needs. We acknowledge our right to refuse selling a puppy to anyone we feel can not give our puppy the home it needs and deserves. We reserve our right to move a person or family to another litter if there are circumstances that arise that show the future care of the puppy may be in jeopardy. Should we decide a family is not able to own one of our puppies all money but the working fee will be returned to the buyer upon the sale of the puppy or when the money becomes available. After 90 days if the check has not been cashed the money is forfeit. Repayment must be received by the client not a another party. A termination agreement must also be signed and full agreement to the termination of the business relationship will be noted upon the cashing of the check. Busy Bee Frenchie’s will honor business agreements and contract guarantees unless we go out of business. Upon going out of business all contracts are void.
